Channing Tatum is
a Saint
I’ve heard Channing
Tatum referred to as a God by his fan army of girls, but never a saint.
Much like Channing Tatum's questionable acting ability, that hasn’t
stopped him from appearing in the film A Guide to Recognizing Your
Saints which won best director at Sundance 2006 for Dino Montiel and a
Best Ensemble special award. No doubt it deserves it with a cast that
includes Robert Downey Jr., Dianne Weist, Chazz Palminteri, Shia LaBeouf,
Eric Roberts, and.. oh yeah, Channing Tatum. Now the film is bringing
its story to DVD on February 20th. The movie is a coming of age story
based on the memoir of the same name written by the film’s director. It
tells the story of a writer who returns home only to relive memories of
his youth. The writer realizes how most of his childhood friends are in
prison or dead and begins to recognize those who helped him (Channing
Tatum) avoid that fate as saints. |

Channing Tatum
and Dewan 'Step Up' Real-Life Romance
Channing
Tatum and Jenna Dewan have taken their romance from hit teen dance film
Step Up off the big screen and into real life. The film shocked box
office observers over the weekend by taking in $21 million in its first
week of release. According to veteran Hollywood columnist Janet
Charlton, Dewan has admitted the couple are officially dating. Dewan is
a professional dancer in real life, having danced with Sean 'Diddy'
Combs, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin and Justin Timberlake. She was
rumored to have been a factor in the break-up of Timberlake and Britney
Spears in 2002 and was most recently linked to A Walk to Remember star
Shane West. Dewan confirmed that she and Channing Tatum have been dating
since filming wrapped on Step Up last year. |

Channing tatum
questioned by the police
Channing Tatum had an
interesting encounter with the cops during a night out in Beverly Hills
on Monday with friend and Stop-Loss co-star Ryan Phillippe. According to
X-17 photo agency, when photographers started snapping shots of Ryan and
potential new beau Nikki Reed, Channing Tatum and one of his friends
were less than pleased, and apparently threatened to grab the cameras
from the photographers. The photographers consequently went to the
Hollywood Police Department and got Channing Tatum into a bit of a mess
with the authorities. Check out a video of the incident on the X-17
website. It's been made unclear whether charges were actually filed
against Channing Tatum as a result of all this, but one thing is
clear... those photographers should mind their own business. |

Channing Tatum,
Agtrys not on Oscar Ballot
Despite being a top candidate for
the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as "Antonio" in
AGTRYS, Channing Tatum was left out of the nominees in favor of
some more experienced actors. The film itself had garnered lots
of buzz and attention at the Sundance Film Festival this year
along with a handful of award ceremonies, but despite that, it
recieved no nominations of any kind when Oscar nominees were
announced this Tuesday morning. The nominations for Best
Supporting Actor went to the following peformances:
Alan Arkin, "Little Miss Sunshine"; Jackie Earle Haley, "Little
Children"; Djimon Hounsou, "Blood Diamond"; Eddie Murphy, "Dreamgirls";
Mark Wahlberg, "The Departed."
I think I can speak for all Channing Tatum fans when I say that
we're still more than proud of Channing Tatum for what he's
accomplished this past year, and in our eyes, he's the Best
Supporting Actor and beyond... Channing Tatum may have just been
a little too fresh a face to get the nod for an Oscar nomination
this year. Keep your head up and keep doing your thing, Channing
Tatum. The greatest achievments you garner in your acting career
are still ahead of you. |

Channing Tatum
puts wings on career with 'saints'
Channing Tatum is having a good year. The
6-foot-1-inch former extreme athlete and Abercrombie & Fitch
model showed he had all the right moves in the summer’s sleeper
dance hit “Step Up.” Channing Tatum is now being hailed for an
electrifying performance in “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints”
(opening Friday).
As Antonio, the toughest hoodlum in 1980s Queens, N.Y., Channing
Tatum’s bare-chested bravado has won him comparisons to a young
Brando. So how does it feel to be Hollywood’s new It Guy?
“Before ‘Step Up’ came out, I definitely wasn’t on anyone’s top
list. So I don’t know what it feels like, actually,” Channing
Tatum said. He still can get around without being recognized.
“Every once in a while, a group of schoolgirls who are walking
by, who are like 12 or something and have seen ‘She’s the Man,’
they’ll recognize me.” |

Channing Tatum in
Ciara and Chamillionaire's 'Get Up' Video Clip
Ciara just released the video for
her new single, Get Up (featuring Chamillionaire), and watching
the clip was so creepy. The whole video was eerily familiar. We
felt as if we were watching Aaliyah, bless her soul.
Ciara's song is your run-of-the mill, pleasant R&B (with a hip
hop slant) thumper, and the vid is mediocre but palatable. Bonus
points for the Channing Tatum cameo. Channing Tatum is drenched
in water, but he's wearing far too much clothing! |
