“My parents
couldn’t handle my energy so they enrolled me in every sport the school
was offering. I didn’t resent it because I loved sports and picked them
up easily.”
“I hugely needed discipline. I needed focus which is why I really liked
Kung Fu. It helped me focus my energy and my mind.”
“I liked it [modeling] but it wasn’t challenging me enough. That’s when
I decided to pursue acting.”
“She [producer Lauren Shuler Donner] asked me to audition for X-Men 3. I
went up to Vancouver twice to read and I would have gotten in the movie
except the character she wanted me for was cut from the final draft.”
"I'm 35-40% Native American. If you put hair on me, I look white.
Without hair, I look ethnic."
"I think all jocks have a sensitive side. It’s just, will they show it
to anybody? Will they let their guard down and stop being tough and the
cool jock guy around their friends, or just relax? I don’t know if it’s
best to say opening up, but just relax and really say what you’re
actually thinking, and not what you think people want to hear." - when
asked about comparing himself to Duke Orsino.
"We’ve made a pact that, anytime that we think of each other, we’ll just
leave a message," he said. "We’re both really, really busy, so it’s kind
of hard to go and see each other a lot. But, we’ll always keep in
touch." - when asked about Amanda Bynes
“It’s a Disney break-dancing movie, so it should be fun,” he said. “It
was called ‘Music High,’ but it’s not a musical.” The movie wasn’t yet
titled at the time of this interview. “We can’t figure out a name for
it, for some weird reason, but it’s definitely not a musical,” Tatum
commented. “The whole movie has music in it, and there’s dancing. There
are artists in the movie who do sing, but it’s not breaking out into
song.” - talking about new movie Step Up
Shia LaBeouf :: It's pretty nuts, dude. So who is the actor you would
model yourself after?
CT :: I love Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason.
SL :: You remind me of Mark Wahlberg.
CT :: I've always loved that guy—even when he was Marky Mark.
"Anytime [the directors] were like 'locker scene,' they just handed me a
towel. Any scene that we could possibly be naked, they made us naked." -
referring to the directors of Coach Carter.
“It’s so much more filling. You know modeling is not good, you know it
was fun, you got to travel a lot but you don’t really get to put any of
yourself into it. You put the clothes they tell you to out on and then
get whatever look that they want and that’s pretty much it. But I’m not
saying anything bad about because it pretty much afforded me the
opportunity to go after something that I’ve found out that I’m
infatuated with and that I love. It’s opened doors for me. Thank God my
genetics my parents gave me have afforded me those opportunities so I
never say that it was an awful experience. Some models say 'I hate
modeling.'" - Channing’s asked about the transition from modeling to
acting
“Well actually, they give you Zoolander as soon as you become a model
and they give it to you as your bible. As soon as you get there they say
“Here you go, learn it well!”
“Oh my look, well we all thought we had Blue Steel. We kind of all
called it Blue Steel for the most part because he was the man.”
“Except for being a foster kid, Tyler was pretty much me. I had
absolutely no idea of what I wanted to do. As soon as I came back from
playing ball I had no idea of what I wanted to do. I tried going back to
school, it wasn’t something I even understood why I was going. “I don’t
understand why I’m in this class, I don’t want to do anything in math. I
know the basics that’s all I really want.” Now when I get out I kind of
understand why you have to do that.” - When asked about the relation
between him and Tyler Gage.
“I did not go to military school. I had an option either a military
school or a private school. I don’t know how to get that out of the
information that’s out there.”
"There's one on my eyebrow from playing baseball. A ground ball jumped
up and hit me in the face. That's all I'll tell about my scars. I don't
want to seem like a degenerate." - Talking about his scars
Quotes about Channing Tatum
"He was a
really supportive person and he's a really talented actor. Everybody was
really cool. It's hard because I was dressed up as a guy and I was not
myself. Everybody was so professional. Even the jokesters, like Robert
Hoffman, respected the fact that I was doing it. I think everybody
thought, “Wow, its impressive that you could do that,” because I'm 19
and I like looking cute. There were definitely times where I was like,
“I'm sick of feeling disgusting and not attractive.” I was having a
total identity crisis. I really felt I grew and I feel more comfortable
as a girl now." - Amanda Bynes
"Channing has been in a committed relationship with another young lady,
also an actor, for about six months," Glenn says. "She's been in Japan
working for the past three weeks, but they've been in touch nearly every
day she's been gone." Glenn — who says Channing and Amanda were in NYC
to do promotional work for their film — adds: "Friendships were formed
[during filming], and many of these people have stayed in touch,
including Chan and Amanda." - Father Glenn M. Tatum states to Star
Magazine about Channing and Amanda.
"Chan went to Glenville State College for a brief time. My ex helped
recruit him. In Feb of 98 we had Chan up to check out Glenville. During
that weekend Chan decided he'd take a pic of himself with my camera. So
that's how I got the camera. My ex actually talks to Chan from
time-to-time. We all have been keeping up with Chan ever since his first
commercial. My best friend got quite cozy with him during that weekend.
Haven't spoke to him since school but he doesn't appear to have changed
a whole lot. So I knew Chan before he made it big. He didn't attend GSC
until 98. I know that on some web sites there has been mistakes about
this. Chan was hot then and is still hot now." - Kellie (Glenville State
College recruiter) |
